Full-body skin exams are an important tool for patients who may not have seen or recognized atypical lesions on their own. From head to toe and back to front, Dr. Prystowsky inspects skin for any suspicious growths. This quick and painless preventive measure is an invaluable tool in the early detection of skin cancer, as well as many other dermatological conditions. When skin growths of concern are detected, a biopsy may be recommended or a digital photograph may be taken for future comparison at subsequent examinations. Dr. Prystowsky uses magnification and surgical lighting to see the skin in detail. Dermoscopy provides even greater detail by magnifying the lesion and is used to help determine whether a biopsy is necessary.
